On World Nature Conservation Day, let us remember that protecting nature means protecting our own future.
Although India has only about 2.4% of the world’s land area, it is home to nearly 8% of the world’s biodiversity. India also shelters more than 70% of the world’s wild tigers, the largest population of Asian elephants, the only wild population of Asiatic lions and the largest population of one-horned rhinoceroses.
Nature conservation is not just about saving wildlife, it is about protecting forests, rivers, clean air and natural resources for future generations.
Every small action matters. Plant a tree, save water, reduce plastic use and respect wildlife.
